Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s recent sensational comments in Seoul that ‘a bomb will explode on Diwali’ said to be operationalized in two days. On Monday, CM Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy held discussions for more than three hours.
The imposition of prohibitory orders in the city for months ahead of Diwali has become a topic of discussion like never before. The imposition of restrictions by the police in the twin cities during the festival is creating a stir in political circles. Even if the flames of anger of the victims flared up due to the demolition of illegal structures in the city, no such probationary orders were issued.
Likewise, even if the city is rocked by the incidents of destruction of prayer halls that took place a fortnight ago and even the protests of the battalion constables surrounding the city the government does not impose any restrictions. It seems that the Revanth Reddy Sarkar has a well-armed strategy behind the imposition of these restrictions for a month at a time, which has never happened in the past.
It is reliable information that the government has prepared to arrest two key leaders in the previous government. However, the government attempted to create a big uproar after police raids on the Janwada house of BRS working president KTR’s brother-in-law failed. Top police officials are said to be confessing they acted in haste by sending Excise Police, but not law and order police.
Now, it has to be seen how far the mind game being spread by Minister Ponguleti’s `Diwali Bomb’ threat sends shocking waves to the main opposition party. Continuing the flare up in the social media saying ‘Timer on… atom bombs that will explode within 36 hours’ the ruling party is making a hectic attempt to send warning signals.
Within a few hours of their starting the campaign, there are reports in the media that the officials of the municipal department have filed a complaint with the ACB regarding the Formula E-Race case. Analysts believe that all these are the ploys of the ruling party targeting BRS leaders.
In fact, when the Congress under the leadership of Revanth Reddy came to power in the state, it seems that the highest priority was given to arresting the leaders of the opposition party (the previous government). Hype has been created around pP\hone tapping along with the corruption in the schemes undertaken during the previous government.
It is also known that investigations are being conducted focusing on the irregularities in Dharani, Kaleshwaram etc.
But at the same time the government is now seen cultivating partnership with key contractors in alleged scams during the BRS regime.
However, if they continue to be silent on corrupt accusations, directly made by Revanth Reddy himself as TPCC chief, it is likely to send wrong signals to the people. So, the government is said to be preparing to act, resorting to some arrests.
