Senior IPS officer and former state intelligence chief PSR Anjaneyalu, who was arrested in the case of harassing a Mumbai actress, has been taken into custody by CID officials. With the permission of the court, CID officials took him into custody from Vijayawada District Jail and shifted him to Vijayawada Government Hospital. After a medical examination, he was taken to the CID office.
As per the court orders, PSR Anjaneyulu was to be taken into custody and questioned at 10 am. However, there was a delay in taking him into custody due to fluctuations in PSR’s BP. He was taken into custody about an hour late and taken to Vijayawada GGH. PSR is to be questioned for three days.
The CID officials are expecting that key things will come out in these 3-day interrogations. They are in search of finding masterminds, key players and ultimate beneficiaries behind this. CID officials believe that the investigation will reveal who was behind the entire conspiracy to harass a Mumbai actress and force her to withdraw the case against an industrialist.
The investigation of PSR Anjaneyulu will continue till 5 pm in the presence of lawyers. However, it is known that the ACJM court in Vijayawada has remanded PSR Anjaneyulu in custody for 14 days in the case of harassing a Mumbai actress. PSR was arrested by CID officials on Tuesday and questioned for about 7 hours.
He was taken to a government hospital at 6:30 am on Wednesday, after being kept in the CID office in Vijayawada all night on Tuesday. After medical examinations, he was taken to the CID court. CID lawyers Sai Rohit and Rajendra Prasad explained to the court that PSR Anjaneyulu tried to tamper with evidence in the Mumbai actress harassment case.
He said that IPS officer and the then Vijayawada DCP Vishal Gunni had testified that the entire plan behind the harassment of the actress was PRS. He said that Vishal Gunni and the then Vijayawada CP Kanti Rana were summoned to the CMO by PSR Anjaneyulu and a false case was filed against the Mumbai actress and she was kept in jail for 42 days. He explained to the court that a case was registered in this regard at Nagarampalem police station in Guntur district.
