Bhagavanth Kesari emerges as festival winner

Nandamuri Balakrishna once again took advantage of the festival season this year. He scored a decent hit earlier this year with Veera Simha Reddy which released during the Sankranti season. Now, his Dussehra release Bhagavanth Kesari emerged as an outright box office winner in the three-way clash featuring Leo and Tiger Nageswara Rao. Balakrishna gained upper hand as the film decisively registered better numbers than both other films.

After the end of the first week, Bhagavanth Kesari joined the 100 Crore club and completed a hat-trick of hits for Balakrishna after Akhanda and Veera Simha Reddy. The film initially started on a moderate note due to mixed reviews. However, due to festival advantage, there is a significant improvement in the numbers during the weekend.

Taking advantage of the festival holidays in the Telugu States, Bhagavanth Kesari reported solid occupancies across all territories on Monday and Tuesday. Surprisingly, there is no big drop in numbers on Wednesday as the collections are very impressive in majority of B and C centres.

In USA, Balakrishna scored a hat-trick of million-dollar films with this film. He is the only seasoned actor to achieve this rare feat.

With no big-ticket films set for release in the near future, trade experts believe that the Anil Ravipudi directional will extend its strong run into the second week.

What is more appreciable is that both Anil Ravipudi and Balakrishna came out of their comfort zone and managed to impress all sections of moviegoers with this film

Overall, Bhagavanth Kesari is the winner of the Dussehra season.
