Nothing seems to be going right for the Daggubati family. Seasoned actor Victory Venkatesh hasn’t been able to deliver a decent outing in recent times. On the other side, Gen-X actor Rana Daggubati stayed away from mainstream movies due to unknown reasons. The Rana Naidu web series starring both Venkatesh and Rana evoked mixed reactions from netizens due to inappropriate and adult content.
Now, another embarrassment has struck this illustrious family in the form of a disappointing Friday release. Abhiram Daggubati, nephew of Victory Venkatesh and brother of Rana Daggubati, made his acting debut with Teja’s Ahimsa which hit the screens this Friday. Shockingly, there is no buzz on the film at all despite the association of big names like director Teja and producer Suresh Babu.
Ahimsa took an abysmal start as the first-day numbers are shocking to the core from trade’s perspective. Many theatres couldn’t even register 10 percent of occupancies even for morning shows. This shows that the film is outrightly rejected even before its release due to the lackluster trailer and poor buzz on the combination. What is more disappointing is that there is no speck of appreciation for the debutant hero Abhiram.
Ahimsa is going to be another forgettable film for Tollywood in the list of box office duds this Summer season. Moreover, it will be a huge embarrassment for the Daggubati family which is struggling to keep its illustrious fame intact.
