Akkineni Naga Chaitanya seems to be going ahead with content-driven scripts irrespective of their reception at the box office. His latest offering Custody showcased him as an underdog police constable who believes in honesty and integrity. Despite tasting an unexpected result with Custody, Chaitu is still game for trying out-of-the-box genres with novel subjects.
That Chaitu is going to team up with Savyasachi and Premam director Chandoo Mondeti for the third time is known news already. The Karthikeya-2 director has reportedly readied a survival thriller for Naga Chaitanya with an interesting backdrop and character. As per the latest buzz in industry circles, Chaitu will be seen as a boat driver and fisherman in this film. There will be a tinge of romance and emotion interspersed with action and drama.
With Karthikeya-2, Chandoo Mondeti proved that he can handle thrillers quite effectively keeping audiences invested with his narration and screenplay. He once again wants to tell an engrossing subject which is going to be a first-of-its-kind story in Tollywood. It is said to be inspired by real-life events that transpired off the Gujarat coast.
Naga Chaitanya will undergo a phenomenal transformation for this film and his character will be a complete departure from what he essayed so far in his career. He will be sporting a rugged character that has good scope to unleash the acting mettle in him.
Geetha Arts banner will bankroll the film and an official announcement will be made soon.
