YSRCP leaders looking to shift loyalties to TDP

Thursday, May 2, 2024

As the general elections of 2024 are approaching, more leaders from the ruling party are leaning towards the opposition party TDP since the growing anti-incumbency of YSRCP is transferred to the TDP. A few leaders in Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema who are already dissident towards the ruling party are now preferring the TDP.

Going into the details, the YSRCP MLA candidate of Gannavaram, Yarlagadda Venkatrao is not sharing a good bond with his own party. Even though he was the MLA candidate, the fact that the ex-TDP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan shifted his loyalties towards YSRCP, Jagan is thinking to give the Gannavaram ticket to Vamsi rather than Venkatrao in this regard. The latter also tried for MLC at least but it seems Jagan is not showing any interest in the candidate. This led Yarlagadda to have talks with Nara Lokesh and it seems the talks were successful. So soon we can see an official joining of Venkatrao into TDP probably during Lokesh’s Yuva Galam Padayatra.

Already the sitting MLAs of Nellore like Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, and Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy officially went to TDP leaving YSRCP. Recently, Undavalli Sridevi also met Chandrababu and spoke about shifting the party. All these are denting the chances of the ruling party YSRCP winning again in the 2024 assembly polls.
