Recruitment for Group-1 posts in Telangana has been put on hold by the High Court. It has issued interim orders not to issue appointment letters to candidates until it orders it. It has said that appointment letters should not be issued to candidates selected for Group-1 until the investigation is completed.
However, it has allowed the certificate verification of the selected candidates to continue. It has ordered the Service Commission to submit the computer log history related to the data entry of the candidates. Justice Namavarapu Rajeshwar Rao on Thursday took up the hearing on the petitions filed by 20 people including M Paramesh, alleging that mistakes were made in the evaluation of the Group-1 exam and seeking an independent judicial inquiry into this.
The judge issued notices to the TGPSC to file a counter with detailed details on the objections raised by the petitioners. The petitioners were also ordered to include the candidate whose marks have been reduced as a respondent if a recount is applied for. The petitioners were told to report where they are currently working, their status and other details.
The petitioners were warned that if they file petitions with false details, they will have to face serious consequences. At the same time, they were warned that even if it is found that irregularities have been committed in TGPSC, the consequences will be serious. The next hearing was postponed to the 28th of this month.
Senior advocate Rachna Reddy, while presenting arguments on behalf of the petitioners, said that in the examination conducted for the filling of 563 Group-1 posts, 71 people were selected from only two examination centers. She said that this raises many suspicions and a candidate who appeared 482 times will appear again and if recounting is done, they will come down to 422.
She said that changes were made in the computers to publish the general ranking list, and if the log history is checked, this fraud will be exposed. If asked about this, they say that it is forgery, and if this is true, then why has no action been taken so far, she said, all these are key points to say that irregularities have been committed in Group-1.
Rachna Reddy said that 21,075 people appeared for the Group-1 main, and then the number increased to 21,085 in the final list, and there is no answer to the question of 10 new people coming from where? She said that no more evidence is needed to say that irregularities have been committed in Group-1.
She said that the commission, which announced that 9 people had written the exam in Urdu and later said that the number was 10, was also such an irregularity. Moreover, she said that the Service Commission had said that the evaluation would be conducted by expert professors from various government colleges in the country, but they were actually conducted by retired professors.
