Tamil actor Suriya is all set to make a strong comeback with his highly anticipated film ‘Retro,’ directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Slated for a grand theatrical release on May 1, coinciding with Labor Day, the film has officially cleared censorship formalities, receiving a ‘U/A’ certificate from the CBFC board.
Touted to be a romantic-action drama, Retro stars actress Pooja Hegde as the love interest opposite Suriya. It is reported that this action-packed romantic thriller has a lengthy runtime of 2 hours and 48 minutes, with no cuts from the film.
As the release date nears, the team has intensified promotional activities. They initially grabbed attention with a unique style, introducing the cast and crew in a vintage comic retro style, a creative choice that impressed audiences and garnered appreciation. The earlier released teaser also fueled excitement further.
Today, the buzz increases as the film’s theatrical trailer and audio are set to be unveiled at a special event at Chennai’s Nehru Indoor Stadium. Actress Pooja Hegde has already begun promoting the film, with Suriya expected to join soon for promotional activities across Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
Produced by Suriya and Jyothika under their banner 2D Entertainments, Retro also has an impressive cast of Joju George, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Karunakaran, Nassar, and many others in key roles.
