Rapaka Varaprasad gained recognition as the sole MLA elected from the Jana Sena Party in the 2019 elections. However, shortly after his victory, he distanced himself from the Jana Sena and aligned himself with the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). Now, he has decided to bid farewell to the YSRCP as well.
Rapaka stated that he feels his connection with the YSRCP has been severed and that he will soon join another political party. He expressed disappointment over not receiving the MLA ticket despite his hard work in Rajolu, noting that he was only offered the MP ticket.
While he admitted that he doesn’t prefer contesting for MP, he explained that he entered the race due to the encouragement of party leaders. Rapaka also revealed that the YSRCP chose to give the ticket to Gollapalli Surya Rao instead of him, indicating a lack of confidence in his candidacy. He confirmed that he would soon resign from the YSRCP and emphasized that he would not continue in that party under any circumstances.
