Bollywood Baadshah Shahrukh Khan’s recent outing ‘Pathan’ is on the way to shattering many records of Indian Cinema and creating new records on its one. The latest reports from the trade analysts depict its dominance overseas along with the Indian market.
Pathan quenched the long-desired thirst of both North audiences and Bollywood film lovers as the movie was a blockbuster right before its release in the name of advance bookings. After the end of its first week’s run, the movie collected a worldwide gross of 650+ crores and is inching towards smashing many records. Overseas, the movie collected a total of 31 million dollars from all foreign countries. In the USA, the film surpassed Padmavat and Dangal as it crossed 12.1 million dollars this morning and sat only next to the RRR (14M) and Baahubali-2 is still at the top (20 M). The movie officially became the number-one grosser overseas as far as Hindi movies are concerned. If we take some countries like New Zealand, Pathan is the only film that grossed one million dollars in Indian Film history.
Directed by Siddarth Anand of ‘War’ and ‘Bang Bang’ fame, the movie has Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in crucial roles while Vishal Sekhar composed the music. The movie is expected to end up in the 1000 crores gross club in its full run in India.
