Old Facilities Restored For Devotees At Tirumala

Friday, December 20, 2024

The new government has restored the facilities for the devotees who come to Tirumala, which were abandoned in the last five years. Divyadarshan tokens, regulation of que lines, distribution of prasads to the devotees waiting in the compartments has resumed.

TTD has taken steps in accordance with the wishes of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that the devotees who come to Tirumala visit the Lord satisfactorily and return with a sense of devotion. There are allegations that during the YSRCP government, many programs were done to alienate devotees from Tirumala Venkanna.

Devotees have been complaining against increased political interference in TTD affairs and arbitrary decisions of the administration. Due to priority to political patronage, common devotees face difficulty in having SriVari darshan.

With the change of TTD Executive Officer by the new government, efforts are being made to restore common devotees- friendly measures. New EO Shyama Rao has been conducting continuous reviews with the officials of various departments and taking corrective measures.

The sheds of Narayangiri Gardens, which have been closed for five years, have been made available to devotees in the compartments in Vaikuntam Q Complexes 1. During previous regime, the officials of TTD, considering it a costly task to fill the queue complexes with devotees and provide them food, milk and water, made Sarvadarshanam and Divya Darshanam devotees to reach the temple by rotating them in the queue lines without leaving them in the compartments.

As soon as the new government came to power, the compartments were renovated. Due to this, the situation of devotees having to stand in queues for hours has been avoided. Now, except during week-ends, no devotees is seen outside the queues. Devotees are happy that the distance of the queues is reduced and the food and breakfast are widely available in the compartments.

The YSRCP government stopped issuing Divya Darshan tokens for some time citing Covid19 and leopard attacks. Due to this, devotees coming on foot faced difficulties. The new government partially restored the Divya Darshan tokens and took a crackdown on irregularities.
