BRS Working President KT Rama Rao has accused Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of committing massive corruption in Amrut tenders. He alleged that Shodha Company of his brother-in-law Sujan Reddy was given a contract worth Rs. 1,137 crore in violation of the Office of Profit rule.
He met the Union Housing and Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi and urged to conduct a transparent investigation into the entire matter and cancellation of the tenders if any irregularities were found.
KTR said that such large-scale work was awarded to a company that had no experience or qualifications just because it was his brother-in-law’s company. He said that CM Revanth Reddy played a key role in this entire affair and abused his power and awarded work worth Rs. 1,137 crore to his brother-in-law’s company.
As part of the Amrut 2.0 scheme, the central government is spending about Rs. 8,888 crore on various works in Telangana. Since this scheme is led by the Union Housing and Urban Development Ministry, KTR met the Minister of the Ministry and explained along with evidence.
KTR appealed to the Union Minister to conduct an investigation into these tenders, saying that the rule of office of profit was violated in the entire matter. As part of the Amrut tenders, the CM’s brother-in-law’s company Shodha Infrastructure Limited, which won works worth Rs. 1,137 crore, showed a profit of only Rs. 2 crore 20 lakh for the financial year 2021-2022.
KTR questioned how such a company could be awarded works worth Rs. 1,137 crore? He said that the fact that so many crores of works were awarded to a company with no experience or qualifications shows that there was a huge corruption deal behind the scenes.
KTR said that out of the total works worth Rs. 1137 crore, a company called Indian Hume Pipes Co. Limited had been contracted to do 20 percent of the works and the remaining 80 percent of the works were done by Shodha Infrastructure.
He said that 80 percent of the work in the entire project was handed over to the Indian Hume Pipes Limited company, which is the CM’s brother-in-law’s company.
Since the Municipality Department has complete authority regarding the Amruth tenders, KTR criticized CM Revanth Reddy, who is also the Municipal Administration Minister, for committing corruption on a large scale by handing over these tenders to his brother-in-law.
