Kiran Kumar Reddy Targeting Peddireddy, Alleges `He Held My Legs Twice’

Thursday, May 2, 2024

Minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy, who has grown as a major power center in YS Jaganmohan Reddy regime, practically dictating terms on all political issues in Rayalaseema districts, has emerged as a major threat for the opposition TDP. For the last three years he has been concentrating on Kuppam constituency so as to defeat TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in his own home turf.

However, another former chief minister Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy, who is known as `political opponent’ to Peddireddy since decades in Chittoor district, is now targeting him. He is leaving no chance in pushing him corner politically.

As now he is contesting from Rajampet Lok Sabha as BJP candidate, with the support of TDP and Jana Sena against sitting YSRCP MP and Ramachandra Reddy’s son Mithun Reddy, he is trying to depict him as a horrible corrupt politician.

Moreover, Ramachandra Reddy is contesting from his Punganur assembly and Kiran Kumar Reddy’s brother Kishor Kumar Reddy also as TDP candidate from Pileru and these two constituencies are part of Rajampet Lok Sabha.

Kiran Kumar Reddy dared Peddireddy to deny stating that  “Have you forgotten that you held my legs twice for the post of DCC president?”. “I am ready to swear either in Kanipakam or Tarigonda that you touched my legs. Are you ready?”, he challenged.

It seems the former chief minister is losing his patience as Peddireddy has been making many accusations against him for the past few days blaming him responsible for the bifurcation of the state. Taking part in the nomination filing of his brother Kishor Kumar Reddy in Peleru, he took objection to Peddireddy’s repeated criticisms that it was due to former union minister Chidambaram he became chief minister.

“I never compromised self-respect for positions in politics. Without any hesitation I had given up the Chief Minister post protesting against bifurcation of the state”, he added.

He recalled that “when I was the then MLA of Vayalpadu constituency when the DCC elections were going on in the combined Chittoor district, one day, when I was staying at Padmavathi Guest House, Peddireddy  came there at 11 pm. When I was talking with about 50 supporters, I was shocked. Peddireddy touched my feet in their presence seeking my support to become DCC president” He said that he has been patient all this time and not saying this even if he doesn’t like it so that people can know other’s true nature
