High Court order to demolish Nalgonda BRS Office building

Friday, April 18, 2025

In a rude shock to the main opposition BRS, the Telangana High Court ordered the demolition of its newly constructed party office in Nalgonda, even before its formal inauguration. The High Court warned that the party leaders should demolish the office within 15 days or the municipal department officials would demolish it.

BRS leaders have filed a petition in the High Court to give directions to the municipal department to make the party office regular. The court that heard the petition on Wednesday asked why no permission was taken  from the government before constructing the office?.

The judge asked the petitioner how he would give permission after constructing the party office? After hearing the arguments of both sides, the court issued orders to demolish the party office within 15 days.

There has been a controversy over the Nalgonda BRS party office for the past few days., District Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy alleged that the party office insisted on demolishing the party office which was built without any permissions on the government land. He said that they have violated the rules and spent crores to build buildings with the confidence that they will come back to power.

Komati Reddy raised objections to the construction of party offices while he was in the opposition also. He said that when they come to power, they will demolish the building and build government offices in that place.

Soon after coming to power, he ordered demolitions. Because of this, BRS ranks approached the High Court. The then government took over two acres of land belonging to Agros for the BRS party office. Later, the land was transferred to the party office for only Rs. 3.50 lakhs from CCLA.

Located in the heart of the city, next to the Nalgonda-Hyderabad road, this land is estimated to be worth about Rs 100 crores. But even though the building was completely constructed, it did not see the opening.
