BRS MLA Harish Rao has called on the DGP and senior police officials to refrain from blindly following the instructions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Speaking to the media at his residence in Kokapet, Harish Rao highlighted the importance of the DGP’s position, urging the officer to act responsibly while in office. He alleged that Revanth Reddy had previously verbally abused the police when they attempted to place him under house arrest, pointing out that those incidents are now circulating on social media. In contrast, he stated, BRS leaders have consistently cooperated with the police.
Harish Rao urged the police not to follow Revanth Reddy’s directions if they involve wrongdoing, advising them to adhere to the law. He questioned the inconsistency in police action, citing the example of MLA Arikepudi Gandhi being allowed to go unchallenged while BRS members were stopped. Harish Rao also raised concerns about the lack of law and order when Kaushik Reddy’s home was allegedly attacked on Revanth Reddy’s orders.
He further remarked that every attack from Revanth Reddy would only strengthen their foundation and asserted that the BRS is not afraid of confrontations. Harish Rao emphasized that struggles are familiar to them and that the party is committed to thinking responsibly about Telangana’s future. He also referenced a recent High Court ruling on party defections, which he described as a setback for Revanth Reddy, accusing him of engaging in diversionary politics. Harish Rao concluded by stating that for the BRS, the welfare of the state takes precedence over political games.
