Review :
Vishwak Sen’s depiction of Lankala Ratnakar in “Gangs of Godavari” is captivating, especially his seamless adoption of the Godavari accent. He adeptly portrays Ratnakar’s journey from vulnerability to wielding power, skillfully navigating through a spectrum of emotions, from fragility to arrogance. Sen’s performance provides a compelling portrayal of Ratnakar’s evolution throughout the film.
Neha Sshetty shines on screen with her captivating presence and commendable performance, despite her limited screen time, particularly noticeable in the first half. She adeptly conveys emotions in pivotal scenes, leaving a lasting impression.
Anjali delivers a standout performance in a significant role, captivating audiences with her transformed appearance and compelling portrayal, showcasing her versatility as an actress.
The meticulously crafted action sequences in the first half, complemented by Yuvan Shankar Raja’s evocative score, elevate the film. Supporting actors Goparaju Ramana, Nassar, and Hyper Aadi also effectively contribute to their respective roles, enriching the overall narrative. Ayesha Khan sparked in a special song.
While the initial half of the film maintains a satisfactory pace and holds the viewer’s interest, the latter half struggles to sustain momentum and excitement. Although Krishna Chaitanya’s direction is skillful, the screenplay lacks the necessary impact to keep the audience fully engaged throughout.
Neha Shetty’s character could have been better developed to enrich the narrative, while Anjali’s role could have been given more depth. Goparaju Ramana’s portrayal as an MLA lacks complexity, and casting a more prominent actor could have heightened interest in the character.certain scenes are depicted in a rather ordinary manner, missing an opportunity to fully captivate the audience. The director could have emphasized the emotional sequences more to enhance the overall.
“Gangs of Godavari” unfortunately falls into the realm of routine and outdated mass action films. While Vishwak Sen, renowned as Mass Ka Das, shines with his commanding presence and impactful performances, the film is let down by Krishna Chaitanya’s predictable storyline and script.
