In the state, on Saturday, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) made allegations against the BJP, which is in power at the center, that irregularities are happening during the Lok Sabha elections. In West Bengal, the TMC alleged that the BJP was tampering with EVMs in Bankura. Photos showing tags of BJP on five EVMs in Raghunathpur were released through the party’s social media account ‘X’.

Therefore, the TMC demanded that the Election Commission take immediate action against the BJP during the elections at the center.

In this context, the Election Commission immediately took action against the BJP. The TMC countered the allegations.

During the polling center setup, it was revealed that party agents and their supporters were involved in taking photographs. However, it was said that the school on Raghunathpur was exclusively used by BJP representatives, agents, and the VVPAT machine.

When the CCTV coverage ended, it was clear that this process took place. However, at the beginning of polling, all parties collected the supporters’ IDs at polling stations (station numbers 56, 58, 60, 61, 62). The Election Commission informed the parties to follow the election procedures. It also said they would provide the complete video of the process.

In the Lok Sabha election scenario, in West Bengal, polling is taking place in six constituencies (Tamluk, Kanthi, Ghatal, Jhargram, Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura) on Saturday.
