AP Governor avoids the 3 Capitals topic in assembly

Monday, December 23, 2024

The new Governor of AP, Abdul Nazeer has not only addressed the house for the first time but he also started the fresh Assembly sessions of AP post winter. To everyone’s surprise, The Governor completely avoided mentioning the infamous 3 capitals topic.

Right from the time Jagan came to the power, he has been talking about the decentralization of power by having three capitals to the state.  CM and his party leaders managed to confuse people by talking about the 3 capitals and at the same time, they announced that Vizag will only be the sole capital of AP. CM Jagan also concretized Vizag as capital in front of all the investors in the recently held summit. At this juncture, YSRCP which was initially keen on introducing the three capitals bill in the ongoing assembly session later went back on it. Even the Governor left this topic in his addressing speech.

Political experts say that the Governor being an ex Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India is well aware of not talking about an issue that is still in the Apex Court’s hands as the verdict is due. Jagan on the flip side also thought the same and completely skipped this issue in their assembly discussions.
