In a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, August 22, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy requested early approval of the revised cost estimate for the Polavaram irrigation project. According to the sources, CM Jagan discussed the Polavaram project with Modi during their 30-minute meeting where he requested approval of the revised irrigation project cost estimate of Rs 55,548 crore because the state government is unable to move forward with the rehabilitation and resettlement projects due to their high cost.
