Expressing confidence of winning local body elections in the state, Telangana State BJP President N Ramchander Rao assured that the party would give top priority to BCs, youth and women in coming elections. Addressing a party workers meeting at Mahabubnagar and Narayanpet districts, he said there was growing support of the people particularly youth and women are supporting with hope.
Emphasising the party’s commitment to empowering women and backward classes the state party chief said it was BJP which has provided 33 per cent reservation for women in legislative bodies. He called upon BJP workers to actively participate in the party programme in highlighting the Modi government’s achievements and should go door-to-door to explain Prime Minister Modi’s development programmes and welfare schemes.
“If we all work hard, BJP will definitely come to power in Telangana in the 2028 assembly elections,” Rao asserted. He sharply criticized successive governments for failing to address the long-pending issues of migration as Mahabubnagar districts also known as “ Palmuru” district. It was called a district of migration as people used to go to other states for work.
He alleged that the KCR government boasted about developing the region to reduce migration and the Congress also promised to prevent it.But even now migration from Palmuru to Mumbai continues, he said. On the issue of BC reservation, the BJP chief accused the Congress government of neglecting the welfare of the people of Telangana and charged it with betraying the BC community.
He said that the Congress had said that according to their caste census, the BC population is 46 percent. But they are promising only 42 per cent reservations including 10 per cent reservation to muslim community. They are conspiring to give only 36 per cent reservation to BCs now. He lamented that this was a betrayal of BCs. Rao said if the BJP comes to power, it will remove religion-based reservations and ensure justice to BCs.
He said since 1947, Congress has not made a single BC as chief minister neither in united Andhra Pradesh nor Telangana.Highlighting the BJP’s commitment to BC empowerment party chief said the BJP has made a leader from the BC community as Prime Minister and there are 27 BCs in Modi cabinet. But, he deplored that there are only two BC ministers in Revanth Reddy’s cabinet.
