The police custody of Nellore district YSR Congress Party leader and former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy has concluded in connection with the illegal mining case. Govardhan Reddy, designated as accused A4, was interrogated by officials at Krishna Patnam Port Police Station for three days.
Following the interrogation, he underwent medical examinations at Muttukur before being produced before the Nellore District SC/ST Special Court. After hearing the submissions, the court ordered judicial remand for Govardhan Reddy.
Subsequently, in accordance with the court’s directive, police transferred him under tight security to Nellore Central Jail. Meanwhile, a bail petition filed by Govardhan Reddy is scheduled for hearing at the High Court on Monday. The outcome of this hearing has garnered significant public interest.
