YCP Leaders Go Into Hiding As Legal Troubles Mount; Courts Deny Relief

Friday, December 5, 2025

A noticeable pattern is emerging within the YSR Congress Party (YCP): leaders who speak fearlessly in public are now disappearing from the spotlight once legal heat turns up. As soon as cases are registered against them, many seem to go underground, avoiding arrest while they seek protection from the courts.

One of the most prominent examples is Kakani Govardhan Reddy. Just a while ago, he threw a public challenge to the authorities, daring them to arrest him if they had the courage. But once a case was officially filed, Kakani vanished without a trace. His petitions for relief in the courts have so far failed, and police teams are actively searching for him. Adding a touch of political humor, rival leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy quipped, “It’s been ages since we’ve seen Kakani—would love to get a glimpse of him again.”

Similarly, Thopudurthi Prakash Reddy appears to have followed the same route. During Former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s recent visit to Raptadu, Prakash allegedly mobilized a large crowd dangerously close to the Chief Minister’s helicopter, raising security concerns. Reports also suggest he encouraged attacks on police officers during the event. Authorities swiftly registered a case against him. Initially, Prakash struck a defiant tone, challenging the police to arrest him if they could. But when he realized arrest was imminent, he too disappeared—now reportedly moving legal petitions to secure anticipatory bail.

This recurring pattern of bold talk followed by vanishing acts hasn’t gone unnoticed. Critics and the public alike are questioning the integrity of YCP leaders who claim they fear no arrest yet go into hiding the moment legal action begins.

The widening gap between their public bravado and private evasions is fueling fresh criticism as the legal spotlight continues to tighten around them.
