YS Jagan Plans Statewide Tour

Tuesday, November 26, 2024

After a significant victory in the elections held in 2019, the YSRCP has managed to establish a dominant position in the political affairs of Andhra Pradesh. The recent election has however marred its fortunes with a sharp fall in MLA strength from 156 to just 11.

Going back to reap from the setback, YSRCP leader and  former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is taking proactive steps to rebuild the party. Renowned for his grassroots strategy that propelled him to victory in 2019, Jagan is now focusing on reconnecting with the people through an extensive statewide tour scheduled to commence after Sankranti.

As part of this initiative, Jagan plans to visit every constituency, dedicating two days to each area. During these visits, he will interact with party workers and local leaders, conduct reviews, and gather input to strengthen the party’s foundation. The tour will cover all 26 districts, signaling a major push towards reviving morale and addressing ground-level concerns.

In addition, Jagan is bringing back the Praja Darbar, an open-door program that allows citizens from across the state to meet him without prior appointments. The Tadepalli camp office is being set up to ensure smooth and direct access for the public. This initiative echoes the approach of his late father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, who was celebrated for maintaining close ties with the people during his leadership. Although the plan to introduce Praja Darbar earlier in Jagan’s tenure faced hurdles, it is now being prioritized to enhance public interaction.

Grassroot-level engagement, in particular direct public communication, is where Jagan focuses on building the YSRCP and rebuilding its connection with the people of Andhra Pradesh. The strategic move demonstrates commitment to the party’s image revamping and addressing the expectations of the voter.
