The AP government has focused on the Dasapalla lands scam, worth thousands of crores rupees. The government plans to start the process of removal of these lands from the prohibited list 22-A so as to expose the conspiracy in the agreement for the construction of multi- storied buildings there.
The district administration is engaged in collecting the details after being ordered to report what happened in this matter so that the YCP elders can make a huge profit. During the previous government, the most expensive lands in the city were stolen with the involvement of key people in the government, of which some lands were forcefully looted.
One of which was the case of the Sapalla lands. Already the district administration has sent a report on the scam behind handing over 15 acres of land in Kothavalasa of Bhimili Mandal to Sharada Peeth at a nominal cost of Rs 1 lakh per acre. Recently another report was sent on the issue of Hayagriva Developers land case in Yendada.
Now the government is directed to send a comprehensive report on the status of Daspalla lands. In Chinawar survey number 1027, 1028, 1186 and 1197, 60 acres were used for government purposes and the remaining 15 acres of Dasapalla lands were not taken care of by the government authorities in the past.
In this background, Daspalla lands were included in the prohibited list 22-A in 2014 by the then collector Yuvraj. The lands remain the same till 2023. Due to the pressure of YCP elders, who were concerned about these lands, the previous collector was removed from 22-A.
With this, a prominent YCP leader has assigned the responsibility of development of these lands to his daughter’s company to build skylights. This assignment, while only 30 percent share was given to land owners, while the remaining 70 percent went to the government officials and also the construction company.
It has been mentioned in the agreement that 27.55 lakh square feet of residential and commercial buildings will be constructed on 75,999 square yards of land. A person known as `ULC King’, who was involved in many settlements in the city during the previous government, benefited hugely from this.
In the registration of the agreement, pressure was put on the sub-register at that time. The then opposition TDP and Jana Sena leaders fought separately during the previous government’s tenure over transactions worth thousands of crores of rupees in the Daspalla land business.
Last month after the alliance assumed power, Special Principal Secretary of Revenue Department RP Sisodia visited Dasapalla lands. In the durbar held in the Collectorate, some people complained to him about these lands. With the idea of conducting a comprehensive inquiry into the case of looting of lands in Visakhapatnam, the government has asked for a detailed report on the Daspalla lands. With this, the district administration is now preparing a report.
