The most hyped MLA quota MLC polls have begun in the AP Assembly today and the ruling party YSRCP is quite confident about winning all seven seats after losing the 3 MLC seats in Graduate MLC elections. Meanwhile, four of the ruling party MLAs have given a dire shock to their boss Jagan.
To make up for the lost 3 MLC seats, YSRCP is quite determined to win all the seven seats in the MLA quota and with its strength of a total 155 (151 YSRCP + 4 TDP dissent), Jagan thought that it would be a cake walk. Jagan has brought in all his MLAs to the city of Vijayawada and kept them in a star hotel by assigning one Minister for every 21 MLAs in order to ensure their satisfaction and make them vote for the YSRCP candidate.
It’s then the opposition party TDP fielded its candidate Anuradha for one seat to give a jolt to the ruling party banking on the two dissident MLAs of YSRCP- Anam and Kotamreddy. As this embarrassment is not enough, two TDP rebel MLAs Maddala Giri, and Vasupalli Ganesh who won on a TDP ticket but later supported YSRCP, and the two YSRCP MLAs Thadikonda Sridevi and Vasantha Venkata Krishna Prasad have left the hotel suddenly at midnight without informing the party high command. Sources from the ruling party claim that they are not even reachable on their mobile phone.
Political experts claim that YSRCP would lose one seat to the TDP despite the fact that these four escaped MLAs vote for TDP or escape the full voting process indirectly favoring the opposition.
