TDP to utilize MLC elections against its rebel leaders

Wednesday, December 25, 2024

The Opposition party of AP, TDP is manifesting a lot of plans in order to bounce back in the upcoming polls of 2024. Meanwhile the party has chalked out a masterplan to checkmate its rebel leaders using the forthcoming MLC elections.

Leaders like Vallabhaneni Vamis, Karanam Balaram, Maddala Giri and Vasupalli Ganesh have been dissenting to the TDP and are working alongside the ruling party YSRCP. Even though they shifted their loyalties after winning with the TDP ticket, they were neither whipped nor they changed their parties officially. In other words, they are still getting salaries as TDP leaders still and the party has all the rights on them as far as elections are concerned. For the upcoming MLC elections, TDP is keen on fielding its candidates and thus it will make these four rebel MLAs vote for TDP’s candidate. If in case they are reluctant to vote, TDP can use its Whip power and can use the Election Commission of India to take action against them.

As this is not the only bad news YSRCP would face regarding these four rebel TDP MLAs, the YSRCP MLAs Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Anam Ramanarayana Reddy would use this opportunity and vote for the TDP candidate instead of YSRCP to declare their dissent directly to their Chief Jagan. Either way, TDP is going to gain hugely from this entire premise.
