The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jaganmohan Reddy had held a crucial cabinet meeting to discuss various issues including the budget. Highlights of the happened cabinet meeting are as follows:
Even though the entire meeting was initially targeted for the annual budget of AP for the fiscal year 2023-24, they had no clarity yet on when to introduce the bill and it seems the cabinet would take more time to have a final date for the budget. The Ministries also discussed the possibility of shifting the capital from Amravati to Visakhapatnam and likewise budget, they ended up with no clarity so they just discussed the pros and cons of shifting it. The cabinet had approved the recommendations of the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), as per its Chairman Jagan’s recommendations. According to the AP SIPB, it recommended the clearance of applications of the industries with an investment of Rs 1.35 lakh crore.
On this note, the cabinet cleared many pending proposal schemes and cash transfers for State government-sponsored programs like ‘Jagananna Vidyadevena’,’ YSR Kalyanamastu’, etc along with the release of funds to Nellore Barrage renaming as ‘Nallapureddy Srinivasulu Reddy Barrage’ and developing Ramayapatnam Port, etc. Finally, the cabinet concluded the meeting by paying griefing to the demised actors, directors, and singers in recent times.
