CRDA Commissioner Katamneni Bhaskar said that 90 percent of the central agencies will start construction soon in Amaravati capital region. He said that the state government will soon take a decision on the cases registered against farmers who participated in the Amaravati movement during the previous government.
He explained that a condition has been made that houses should be built while giving loans. The CRDA Commissioner assured that houses will be sanctioned to those coming from outside also. CRDA organized an awareness seminar for farmers on projects to be undertaken in the capital.
In this seminar, CRDA officials, World Bank and ADB representatives met with farmers. Farmers who gave lands for the construction of the capital and JAC leaders were invited to this meeting and officials took their views.
Farmers demanded that Amaravati construction be started as soon as possible and that jobs be provided to educated youth, women and laborers. They demanded that the Amaravati region be considered a district. The regulations set by the World Bank and ADB for the construction of Amaravati were explained to them.
It was clarified that 80 percent of the issues mentioned by the farmers are in the CRDA agreement. Commissioner Bhaskar explained that if an investment of $10 million is received, a subsidy of $1 million will be given. He clarified that all the infrastructure will be provided and all this is part of the agreement.
He said that banks are still willing to provide loans if these agreements are completed. The Commissioner explained that a loan of about Rs. 30,000 crores is possible. He said that the loan sanction will be signed in Delhi on the 11th of this month with World Bank and ADB representations.
World Bank Representative Gerald said that the construction of the capital will start as soon as the loans are received. He also said that they are happy to be a part of Amaravati. He said that this is a people’s capital and their participation is necessary. He clarified that our support for Amaravati will continue in the future.
