YCP leaders became notorious in grabbing hundreds of crores of rupees valued government lands all over the state during their five year’s repressive regime. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is making efforts to unearth their illegal and irregular acts by exposing them before the people through White Paper.
In this process, now the mega land grabbing attempt by former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his uncle YV Subba Reddy, who was TTD Trust Board Chairman, near Tirupati was unearthed. Now it came to know that both of them tried to grab valuable land near Tiruchanur shrine.
A total of 6.47 acres of land is situated in survey number 378/2 in Kotramangalam area near Tiruchanur Government records reveal this as banjaru land. Both of them have reportedly tried to acquire 4.5 acres of land here. Pressure was put on the then collector and proceedings were taken to remove that land from the prohibited list.
However, leaders of the alliance parties protested from registering that land in their names in the revenue records. Later the coalition government blocked transfer of this Rs. 70 crore worth government land. Recently, on the occasion of releasing white paper, Chandrababu Naidu accused the former chairman of TTD of trying to grab this land.
Likewise, during the YCP regime they also encroached a pond near Tiruchanur. The pond in survey number 234 was divided into three and Chandrababu government, who was in power in the past, decided to give a part of it to Shilparamam. But later after Chandrababu’s government changed, YCP leaders occupied that pond. Naidu lamented that YCP leaders are claiming that they are owners of that pond.
Many people have been granted DKT degrees in Mangalam area. Kunta and canal lands are included in this. The previous government had given permission to sell DKT lands in government lands and issued GO No 596. There were allegations that some YCP leaders threatened the owners of DKT lands and forced them to write in their names. Likewise, they allegedly encroached 25 acres of land.
There have been several attempts by the YCP government to remove the 7.98 acres of unclaimed land in the Durgasamudram from the prohibited list. The registration value of the land is about Rs.270 crore. But it will be valued more in the open market.
