In a case linked to the spread of defamatory content against opposition leaders like Chandrababu, Pawan Kalyan, and their families during the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government in Andhra Pradesh, party worker Varra Ravinder Reddy has been arrested and sent to remand. The court’s remand report has brought to light some shocking revelations from his statement.
Varra Ravinder Reddy provided detailed insights to the police about the orchestrated social media campaigns that targeted political opponents during the YSRCP’s tenure. He disclosed that content for these posts was created by the iPAC team and subsequently shared on various social media platforms.
Ravinder admitted to posting harmful content aimed at those who opposed the YSR Congress Party, including prominent leaders and their families. According to his statement, these posts were published under the supervision of the party’s social media convenor, Vivek Reddy. He further explained that the intensity of these posts increased after Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy assumed responsibility, and that Sajjala had even pressured him to target judges with defamatory content. Ravinder also claimed that, since 2023, Sajjala had been using his Facebook account to post these materials.
Ravinder admitted to posting derogatory content about individuals like Sharmila, Sunitha, and Vijayamma. He confirmed that the content was provided by Avinash’s PA, Raghavareddy, and that Avinash Reddy and Raghavareddy would discuss the nature of these posts before they were made public. Ravinder also confessed to posting offensive material about Pawan Kalyan and his family. Additionally, he mentioned that key figures in managing the YSR Congress Party’s social media activities included Bhargav Reddy, Arjun Reddy, and Sumar Reddy.
These revelations shed light on the deliberate strategy employed during the previous YSRCP government to target political adversaries online, using coordinated efforts and social media channels.
