At a polling station in Tenali today, a dispute unfolded between MLA Annabathuni Sivakumar and a voter named Gottimukkala Sudhakar, resulting in both parties slapping each other. The conflict arose when Sivakumar attempted to enter the polling booth directly, but Sudhakar intervened, leading to a confrontation.
Addressing the incident, MLA Sivakumar recounted the events, stating that while he and his wife were preparing to vote, Sudhakar made derogatory remarks towards him and the YSRCP, accusing them of favoritism towards certain castes. Sivakumar asserted that Sudhakar’s actions were fueled by alcohol and targeted insults towards individuals from lower castes, provoking a reaction from him.
MLA Sivakumar expressed concern over the portrayal of the incident in the media, emphasizing the need to provide clarification to the public. He denounced the depiction of the altercation without reference to Sudhakar’s remarks, asserting that such actions only contribute to animosity towards the Kamma community, to which both he and Sudhakar belong.
