Kakinada: Andhra Pradesh Minister for Food and Civil Supplies and Jana Sena Party (JSP) Political Affairs Committee Chairman Nadendla Manohar has accused the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government of misgovernance, alleging a lack of transparency in welfare scheme implementation.
Addressing the media in Kakinada on Tuesday, Manohar criticized YSRCP for misleading the youth and students over the past five years and now attempting to mobilize them through protest programs. He attributed the current challenges faced by students and young professionals to the previous administration’s policies. Despite financial constraints, he reaffirmed that the coalition government is committed to fulfilling its electoral promises.
Manohar alleged that YSRCP leaders had exploited government institutions for personal gain, deceiving the public in the process. He also stated that YSRCP’s recent outreach efforts were hypocritical, as the party had already been rejected in both the general elections and the recent graduates’ elections.
The minister criticized YSRCP’s claim of providing 44 lakh jobs, arguing that it included volunteer positions, which were not extended beyond their tenure. He noted that the previous government failed to issue a government order (GO) extending their service before the elections. He accused former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of misleading volunteers by promising salary hikes while avoiding formal contract renewals. A review by the coalition government confirmed that the tenure of volunteers had already expired.
Manohar asserted that all sections of society affected by YSRCP’s governance would receive support from the current administration.
JSP Formation Day Event: Extensive Preparations Underway
Providing updates on the upcoming JSP Formation Day event in Chitrada, Pithapuram constituency, Manohar stated that detailed arrangements were in place. Meetings had been conducted with logistics and medical committees to oversee security measures, parking facilities, and emergency services. A total of 14 ambulances and seven medical camps had been arranged, with Apollo Hospital extending support for emergency medical care.
To ensure smooth traffic management, five designated parking zones have been set up. Cultural programs reflecting regional language, traditions, and heritage will be featured. A visual presentation will highlight JSP’s growth and its political journey. The event will also provide an opportunity for students, farmers, women, and fishermen to voice their concerns on social issues.
LED screens have been installed along the highway and at the venue to facilitate seamless viewing and prevent overcrowding.
