Acclaimed writer and director Trivikram Srinivas is now in a similar situation which he was in after the release of Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Agnyaathavaasi’, a film that received severe backlash from all quarters and tanked heavily at the box office. Trivikram bore the brunt of its failure because he took the audience for granted and delivered an outright disaster that fell short of all expectations in every aspect.
Usually, when a director scores a huge debacle, irrespective of his track record, big heroes turn extra cautious and don’t immediately evince interest in working with them. Such was the case with Trivikram also after Agnyaathavaasi. But, NTR trusted Trivikram and allowed him to direct Aravinda Sameta.
Many felt that NTR made a mistake by blindly trusting Trivikram after Agnyaathavaasi. All misconceptions were proved wrong as Aravinda Sameta received solid critical acclaim which marked a strong comeback for Trivikram. He then followed it up with an industry hit in the form of Ala Vaikunthapuramloo.
Now, the embarrassing result of Guntur Kaaram has once again pushed Trivikram to the brink. He was supposed to team up with Allu Arjun for a pan-India spectacle. However, the project is likely to be delayed indefinitely. Trivikram has various options among second-tier heroes like Ram, Nani and Nithiin. He also got a proposal to work with Prabhas. But, it may not materialize in the near future.
Meanwhile, highly reliable reports suggest that NTR is looking to collaborate with Trivikram yet again for the second time. The duo was supposed to team up after Ala Vaikunthapuramloo. However, due to creative differences, the project was put on hold.
Now, with both Trivikram’s and NTR’s next projects getting delayed, there is a strong chance for them to join hands again. If this project gets confirmation, the onus will be on NTR to revive Trivikram’s career again. Will he rescue the top director again? That is a question mark now.
