Though the top leaders in the coalition government are moving forward with perfect understanding and coordination, disunity is creating several problems at lower-levels. Particularly, the widening gap between TDP and Jana Sena leaders in Godavari districts is creating problems for the government, as both the parties are having sound following in these districts.
Though these leaders have worked together during recent elections with perfect coordination, the situation is deteriorating day by day in recent times. Unless these parties’ top leaders intervene to pacify differences between their leaders in these districts, it may hamper the smooth functioning of the government.
The gap that started at the village level has reached the mandal level and now the constituency level leaders. In some places in the combined East Godavari district, quarrels between TDP and Jana Sainikis became routine at field level at several places. Cadres of these two parties are also expressing discontent over the attitude of some MLAs alleging they are not taking leaders of coalition parties into confidence.
Particularly, TDP cadre are up in arms against the Jana Sena MLAs in Kakinada Rural and Nellimarla constituencies alleging that they are ignoring them. Similar discontent is seen among Jana Sena cadres in some other constituencies like Yerragondapalem against TDP MLAs.
The lack of unity among TDP and Jana Sena leaders is causing confusion for both parties. Problems are arising due to lack of coordination here and there. Both parties have been arguing and getting into a fight over this small issue. There are also differences between the leaders of the two parties over some posts and small contract works.
At some places joining of YCP leaders into TDP or Jana Sena after elections caused widening gap between these two parties. As during the election period they fought vigorously against them, some leaders are unable to take their presence easily. Pithapuram TDP leader Verma mentioned the YCP is creating a rift between the TDP and Jana Sena leaders who are in a relationship and damaging the unity between the two parties.
Senior leaders are suggesting that coordination committees should be formed at the district level with key leaders of the three parties, regardless of the government. They are of the opinion that even if problems arise at the village level, they should be discussed in this committee and a solution should be found, only then will there be a change in the leaders.
