Viveka Murder Case : Charge sheet on daughter and son-in-law

Tuesday, June 25, 2024

The mystery surrounding the murder of former Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Vivekananda Reddy, who is the paternal uncle of current Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, is taking new twists and turns even after the lapse of five years.

In a fresh development regarding this case, the Kadapa police filed a chargesheet against Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Sunitha, and her husband Narreddy Rajasekhar Reddy. The CBI SP Ram Singh, who is dealing with this case, has also been included in the chargesheet which was submitted to the Pulivendula court.

In November 2021, the Personal Assistant of the slain former Minister, Krishna Reddy approached Kadapa police and filed a complaint against Sunitha and her husband for allegedly putting pressure on him to give a false statement about the involvement of some noted persons in this murder. As the police didn’t act on his complaint, he approached the Pulivendula Court to issue necessary directions.

After closely perusing his petition, the court on December 8th this year directed the Kadapa police to file a chargesheet against the trio and submit it by January 4th. Reportedly, the police registered the case against them under sections 352, 323, 330, 342,348,506,195-A, 166A(b), 109 IPC r/w 156(3) CrPC.

Krishna Reddy alleged that he was confined by CBI SP Ram Singh and was threatened to give false evidence failing which he would be kept behind bars. He also complained that Sunitha and her husband are behind the harassment.

The Kadapa police ascertained the proofs from the two SITs and clues teams that were formed to investigate the murder case and included them in the chargesheet along with the deposition of 27 other witnesses linked to the case.
