In Vijayawada’s Mogalrajapuram area, a landslide resulted in the deaths of Meghna, Lalu, Bolem Lakshmi, and Annapurna. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy and announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹5 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
The city has experienced heavy rainfall over the past two days, leading to the landslide this morning at Sunnambatti Centre, which damaged several homes.
In response, CM Chandrababu Naidu has instructed officials to enhance relief measures and identify landslide-prone areas for evacuation. Authorities and residents are advised to stay vigilant as heavy rains are expected to continue for the next two to three days.
