Vasudeva Reddy’s Approver petition put Chandrababu’s Government In A Quandary In The Liquor case!

Friday, December 5, 2025

Legal circles and TDP senior lawyers are expressing wonder over the fact that the then MD Vasudeva Reddy, who was accused of earning thousands of crores from liquor kicks during Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime and also earning them, has filed an approver petition along with anticipatory bail.

The fact that he himself is doing what the police should have done is confusing the Chandrababu Naidu government. The fact that he has not been arrested so far, and moreover, he has not spoken out about Jaganmohan Reddy’s involvement in this case, is giving rise to suspicions among TDP legal circles that a senior lawyer in the government is helping to water down the Vasudeva Reddy case.

Will the court accept the approver petition filed by Vasudeva Reddy? Will it dismiss the petition saying that an approver is not needed since the investigation agency has all the evidence? Will the government lawyers oppose Vasudeva Reddy’s approver petition? The suspense has been aroused.

In this case, it is said that the bail of all the others depends on the attitude of the government lawyers on Vasudeva Reddy’s approver petition. Naturally, when the police do not have complete and strong evidence regarding the crime of the accused, they make him an approver and report it to the court.

When there is all the evidence in the police investigation, the primary charge sheet and the FIR are strong, even the court does not agree to make the accused an approver.

Without Vasudeva Reddy handing over the money earned in the scam to the government, and without telling the name of Jaganmohan Reddy, who was the mastermind to the investigation agency or the court,  their questions are arising as to what benefit the government will get if Vasudeva Reddy is made an approver?

TDP legal circles are making it clear that the SIT officials have collected all the evidence and that when all the evidence is strong enough to conclude that Vasudeva Reddy is the accused, it is wrong to ignore him without arresting him so far. In this context, it is reported that some TDP senior lawyers are preparing to file implied petitions to prevent the case from being watered down.

TDP senior lawyers are surprised that this is a serious case that the Election Commission should cancel the YCP’s recognition, and they do not understand why the government is not thinking about it from that perspective.

Meanwhile, surprise is also being expressed at the manner in which warrants are being issued in this case. Naturally, warrants and lookout notices are issued against those who are not available. But there is surprise in TDP circles as to why warrants are being issued to those who are available?
