Varun Tej’s ‘Matka’ Poster : Vintage and Bizzare

Macho star Varun Tej, who is currently busy with Gandeevadhari Arjuna and an untitled airforce drama, has signed another film. To be helmed by director Karuna Kumar of Palasa fame, the film is touted to be a period drama set in the backdrop of Vishakapatnam.

Titled Matka, the film marks Varun Tej’s pan-India debut as it will be made on a staggering budget with grand production values. After the formal launch earlier today in Hyderabad, the makers have unveiled the first look poster which has an interesting design giving an impression that the film is going to have a vintage setup. The story is based on true incidents surrounding gambling.

The poster looks bizarre as it features a vintage car, an old one rupee coin dating back to 1975, an old house and some currency notes. Reportedly, the story takes place in the 1970s. Sources revealed that Varun will sport different looks in this film.

Varun Tej will romance happening beauty Meenakshii Chaudhary and Nora Fatehi in this film. It also features some other notable actors in significant roles. GV Prakash is going to score the soundtrack and Priya Seth will crank the camera.

Vyra Entertainments banner will bankroll the film. The regular shooting will commence towards the end of this year.
