USA Box Office: Samajavaragamana dominates Rangabali

Despite the release of new films, Sree Vishnu’s runaway hit Samajavaragamana extended its dream run at the US box office. Naga Shaurya’s rustic entertainer ‘Rangabali’ failed to make an impact at the ticket windows due to disappointing reviews and poor word of mouth. Another small film ‘Bhaag Saale’ couldn’t garner any attention from moviegoers.

Naga Shaurya’s Rangabali couldn’t live up to the expectations and ended with just over $ 100K in the first weekend. Despite entertaining teasers and trailers and strong publicity, the lackluster narration proved to be a liability for the film. The discouraging reviews impacted the collections.

Meanwhile, Samajavaragamana had a solid performance in the second weekend and ended its tally just over $ 850K. Trade circles are expecting the film to touch the magical million-dollar mark and end up as a huge blockbuster by the end of its full run. It is likely to be one of the biggest hits in recent times in terms of return on investment. After a terrific first weekend with close to $ 375K, the comedy caper continued to notch up good numbers on weekdays to surpass the half-a-million dollar mark. As the new releases failed to impress moviegoers, Samajavaragamana took advantage and added strong numbers during the second weekend.
