Telugu film Hanuman is unstoppable at the US box office. The Prashanth Varma directional dominated another weekend and added strong numbers to its tally by the end of ten days. Meanwhile, other Sankranti biggies like Guntur Kaaram, Saindhav and Naa Saami Ranga failed to sustain the second weekend. All three films are likely to end as big flops.
Hanuman, which ended the first weekend on a blockbuster note with over $ 2.5 million gross added impressive numbers on weekdays. On its second weekend, the film gained terrific momentum and surpassed the $ 4.5 Million mark by the end of Sunday. It is likely to breach the $ 5 million mark in its full run. Hanuman is already the fifth highest-grossing Telugu film of all time in USA.
On second Friday, Hanuman collected $ 248K and followed it up with $ 448K on Saturday. With Sunday’s $ 275K, the film touched the $ 4.5 Million mark.
Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram is going to end as a big loss venture for its distributors. The film took a sensational opening with $ 1.5 Million premieres but failed to add anything more than another $ 1 million in its next ten days. The collections nosedived from the first day due to poor word of mouth. It collected a gross of $ 2.6 million till now.
Venkatesh’s Saindhav didn’t show any signs of improvement in the second weekend. The film collected a total gross of $ 225K and is going to end as a flop in USA.
Nagarjuna’s rustic entertainer Naa Saami Ranga didn’t get any traction as it collected a dismal $ 110K in 7 days.
Dhanush starrer Captain Miller collected close to $ 375K and Ayalaan grossed over $ 400K by the end of second weekend.
