The students, defying the police’s efforts, burnt the effigy of the state government. The angry students raised slogans of ‘Police go back’. This led to tension for some time. Speaking on the occasion, the students alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had not only bankrupted the state but also had his eye on HCU lands to cover the bankruptcy deficit.
They accused CM Revanth Reddy of trying to cover the treasury deficit and to tie up HCU lands to private individuals. The students expressed their anger and strongly condemned Revanth Reddy, who is in the position of Chief Minister, for describing students as foxes in the ditch on the floor of the state assembly.
They demanded that Revanth Reddy should change his language and immediately apologize to the student world. Otherwise, the students warned that they would besiege Revanth’s house and teach him a lesson. They alleged that both CM Revanth Reddy and Minister Sridhar Babu of misleading the assembly and the media by telling lies. They were angry that when the students were peacefully protesting they were surrounded and attacked by the police.
The students expressed their anger that even the female students were pushed away without looking at the girls. The students burned the effigy in unity, bypassing the police. Student leaders have said that the struggle will continue until the Revanth Sarkar government withdraws its decision to auction the HCU lands.
