The dream of people of Nizamabad district have been dreaming of for years has come true. The central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to set up a Turmeric Board in Nizamabad. With this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a Sankranti gift to the people of Telangana.
The central government has officially announced this and issued a notification appointing Palle Ganga Reddy as the chairman of the Turmeric Board. With this decision, the purchase, sale and processing of turmeric farmers in Telangana will get further encouragement. Palle Ganga Reddy will continue in this post for three years.
There has been a demand to set up a National Turmeric Board in Nizamabad since the formation of Telangana in 2014. The inauguration of the National Turmeric Board will be held on Tuesday. It is learned that officials from the central commerce, industries and agriculture departments, other agriculture-related leaders from western states and representatives of the Telangana government will participate in this program.
Strategies, new projects, central government policies and assistance programs related to turmeric farmers are likely to be announced during the inauguration. There will be many important discussions on issues like turmeric sales to farmers, market barriers, and loans. The Center will establish this board to focus on the problems and development of turmeric farmers.
Farmers in Nizamabad, Komurambhim and other districts, which play an important role in turmeric cultivation in the state of Telangana, will get more help through this board. The Central Government has considered turmeric crop as a special industry and announced the formation of this board to solve the problems of farmers.
On the other hand, Palle Ganga Reddy is a person who fought for the welfare of farmers. The Center supported his appointment as he is a person with knowledge of the agricultural sector and experience in understanding the problems of turmeric farmers.
