Trisha Krishnan on a signing spree

Trisha Krishnan is one of the fewest South Indian heroines with longevity in the film industry. Even after a two-decade-long career and despite facing stiff competition from her peers and new-generation actresses, the ’96’ star continues to mesmerize moviegoers with her dazzling screen presence at the age of 40 years.

After ruling the roost for many years as a top-league heroine in various glamourous roles, Trisha opted for only performance-oriented characters and female-centric scripts in recent times. Last year, she started working on a couple of web series as well. However, her stupendous act in Mani Ratnam’s Magnum Opus Ponniyin Selvan has once again brought Trisha back into the limelight. She is now on a roll with a bunch of projects up her sleeve.

Awaiting the release of Thalapathy Vijay’s much-anticipated gangster drama Leo, Trisha is getting ready to commence shooting for Thala Ajith’s next film Vidaa Muyarchi. She is also in talks to play a significant role in Mani Ratnam’s next film with Kamal Haasan which is tentatively titled ‘KH234’. As per the latest buzz in Kollywood circles, Trisha is likely to pair up with Rajinikanth in his 171st film which is going to be launched very soon.

Besides signing a flurry of big-ticket films in Kollywood, Trisha is getting busy in other languages as well. She recently started working on her Malayalam film ‘Identity’ with Tovino Thomas. She was also considered for Megastar Chiranjeevi’s 156th film which is currently on hold. There are unconfirmed rumours that she might soon pair up with Salman Khan for a Bollywood biggie.

With a spate of crazy projects on the horizon in different languages, it is a resurrection of sorts for Trisha Krishnan. Filmmakers are desperate to cast her opposite seasoned actors and started knocking her doors for call sheets.
