Big-budget Telugu films continue to fall prey to piracy menace. Quite often, photos and videos from upcoming films get leaked through unauthorized sources. This is why production houses adopt zero tolerance towards such leaks. Recently, an audio song from Ram Charan’s upcoming film Game Changer got leaked through social media. Dil Raju filed a criminal case against the culprits.
Now, the makers of Prabhas’ forthcoming science fiction thriller ‘Kalki 2898AD’ filed a defamation suit against a renowned VFX company that is working on the visual effects of the film in connection with the leakage of a photo last month.
A still of Prabhas from this dystopian thriller went viral on social media in August this year. The makers quickly responded and removed the image and stated that it was leaked from the editing room of a VFX company. Reportedly, an employee working at the company is said to have shared the photo. He was fired by the company since and an apology was tendered to the production house.
However, Vyjayanthi Movies has filed a defamation suit for a hefty amount as compensation from the VFX company and sought stern action against the offenders.
Kalki 2898AD created a massive buzz after its debut at the Comic-Con event held in San Diego last month. The scintillating glimpse received a thumping response from all quarters and augmented the hype on the film.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898AD stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, and others in significant roles. The film is slated for release in 2024.
