Relief Measures Announced
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu swiftly took control of the situation, gathering all relevant details and ordering immediate relief operations. On Thursday morning, the state government declared financial assistance of ₹25 lakh for the families of each deceased. Revenue Minister Anagani Satyaprasad, alongside ministers Vangalapudi Anita and Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, visited Ruya Hospital to console grieving families and meet with the injured, assuring them of the government’s full support.
CM Naidu to Visit Tirupati
CM Naidu said he was deeply moved by the tragedy and is scheduled to visit Tirupati on Thursday. He will inspect the site of the stampede, meet with affected families, and personally oversee ongoing relief efforts. His visit underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring justice and support for the victims.
TTD Addresses Token Distribution Concerns
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) issued a statement confirming that Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan tokens for the day had already been distributed. They further announced that remaining tokens would be made available on January 13. However, the government is facing criticism and scrutiny over its crowd management strategies, raising questions about how future token distributions will be handled to prevent similar incidents.
