Prime Minister Narendra Modi will announce the availability of 5G services in India on October 1 at the India Mobile Congress at Pragati Maidan. Going into the details, next month, the Prime Minister will open a four-day conference where top telecom providers including Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea will outline their 5G plans for the nation. In a previous statement, the Department of Telecom, or DoT, stated that the first wave of the rollout of the high-speed 5G internet would take place in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune.
