Telangana Minister Drops Political Bombshells Ahead of Diwali

Thursday, November 21, 2024

Telangana’s Minister for Revenue, Housing, Information, and Public Relations, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, has ignited discussions with his recent statement that significant political developments, described as “bombshells,” are expected to unfold within the next couple of days, coinciding with the Diwali festival.

Reddy specifically addressed alleged irregularities linked to the Dharani portal, phone tapping, and the Kaleshwaram project, promising accountability for key figures from the previous government. He made it clear that any actions taken will be rooted in solid evidence, not personal vendettas.

During his remarks, Reddy confirmed that all necessary files are prepared and reports will be available soon. He asserted that no one involved in wrongdoing will evade justice, regardless of their position. The minister indicated that actions against the accused might commence immediately upon their return from their current trip to South Korea. He also criticized opposition parties for politicizing the Musi rejuvenation project, suggesting that arrests of prominent leaders from the former government could be imminent.

Currently, Reddy, along with Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and other officials, is in Seoul to study the Musi rejuvenation and development initiative. They are thoroughly examining the city’s river development strategies, with a particular focus on the Han River and its restoration efforts. Their exploration also includes assessing the river’s crucial role in providing water, sustaining the environment, and bolstering the economy in Seoul.

In related news, TPCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud has voiced strong criticism against the former BRS government, accusing its leaders of exploiting the Dharani portal for land appropriation. He described the portal as a curse for farmers since its launch, expressing that it was initially intended for positive use by former CM KCR but ended up being managed by an organization without proper accountability. Goud alleged that these organizations served as fronts for KTR and Harish Rao, enabling unlawful land acquisitions. He confirmed that the management of the Dharani portal has now been transferred to the NIC, with a pledge to address its shortcomings.

As the political landscape in Telangana heats up, all eyes are on these developments as they unfold in the coming days.
