Hyderabad: The finalized routes for the Phase-II expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail, with a focus on ensuring airport connectivity, have received approval from Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. Following his directive to officials to reevaluate and plan the expansion, the Chief Minister endorsed the proposed routes presented to him on Monday.
In a move to better cater to a larger portion of the city’s population, the Chief Minister had previously ordered the rejection of Metro Rail routes proposed by the previous government. The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has now formulated alternative routes that connect the airport from various corners of the city, aiming to provide convenient and accessible Metro Rail services for a majority of commuters in Hyderabad.
