Telangana CM Revanth Rejects ₹100 Crore Offer from Adani for Skill University

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has outright rejected the ₹100 crore that the Adani Group had offered for the Young India Skill University as growing concerns and accusations with regard to the state government’s association with the group have begun. Even though the offer has been put forward through the CSR scheme of Adani, the Chief Minister made it clear that the funds will not be accepted by the Telangana government because of the controversy heaped over Adani’s involvement in many matters.

In a press briefing held in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills, Revanth Reddy firmly distanced the state government from any association with the Adani Group, saying, “There is absolutely no connection between the Telangana government and the Adani issue. Claims have surfaced, particularly in relation to the Maharashtra elections, suggesting that Adani provided ₹100 crore. If you have received funds from Adani, how can you question their actions? Our leader Rahul Gandhi has already clarified the situation. As per constitutional guidelines, all tenders must be conducted transparently, ensuring equal opportunities for everyone without political interference.”

The Chief Minister made it clear that although several organizations had expressed their interest in funding the Young India Skill University, the state government has not accepted any financial assistance from Adani. “We have not taken any funds from any organization. We will not allow the reputation of Telangana to be tarnished. We have already sent a formal letter to the Adani Group, rejecting their ₹100 crore offer,” he emphasized.

Addressing criticisms over his planned visit to Delhi, Revanth Reddy clarified that the trip is not politically motivated. “I am traveling to Delhi today to attend the wedding of Speaker Om Birla’s daughter. There is no political agenda behind this visit,” he stated. The Chief Minister further explained that on his visit, he would meet with party MPs to discuss important matters, including the funds owed to Telangana. Revanth Reddy reiterated that, as a federal state, Telangana will continue to advocate for its rightful share of resources and will not hesitate to make trips to Delhi when necessary.
