Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Clarifies Requirements for Family Digital Cards

Friday, April 18, 2025
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that there is no need to collect information such as bank accounts and PAN cards for the family digital card. He emphasized that women should be recognized as the head of the household on the digital card. Reddy instructed that the names and details of family members should be included on the back of the card. He conducted a review meeting at the state secretariat regarding the family digital cards.
During this meeting, officials presented a PowerPoint presentation based on their study conducted during visits to Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra from the 25th to the 27th of this month, focusing on family digital cards. The officials explained the details collected by these states in designing their cards, the benefits associated with them, and any shortcomings observed.
Revanth Reddy provided several suggestions to the officials regarding the design of the digital cards. He recommended that family verification should be based on the existing data from the ration, Rajiv Aarogyasri, IT, agriculture, and other welfare schemes. He also advised the adoption of positive aspects from the card designs and implementations of other states.
He instructed that a report should be prepared by Sunday evening on the information collection for family digital cards, including which details should be included and updated. The report should be presented to the cabinet subcommittee. Following the subcommittee’s recommendations, he directed the preparation of a comprehensive list and selection of one rural and one urban area in each assembly constituency for a pilot project.
